Uzuri is solid man. Lerato knows her stuff. She was playing me the Jitterbug stuff a while back and then I did not put 2 & 2 together that, that Jitterbug is the same Jitterbug as here. Good work Jitterbug. I heard you’re getting some gigs from the EP. Do your thing man.

the nami shimada track is awesome, although it has this high pitched tinkle in it that can get a bit annoying sometimes. might be just me though. i love the singing!

the jitterbug ep is another great ep on uzuri!…every release on that label has winning track after winning track, not just one hit but sometimes up to 4 (like the move d record). can’t ask for much more, and the new anton zap one sounds lovely too.

Glad you liked the track. I have to mention a big thanks to Jeff Hollie on Saxes and Jonny Tevreden on electric and fretless basses (+ the scatting bit!) It was a pleasure to work with such virtuoso, open minded musicians.

Convextions set last night was really great, though the soundsystem was a bit lacking for it at times. was heavily leaning towards the ERP material more so than the Convextion material. Killer electro.

i’ve actually had Jitterbug’s 12″ for a couple weeks now, but i held off on mentioning it on here at his request and then i haven’t had a chance to post about new records in a while. i did play that shit on WNUR while i was in Chicago, “Speaker’s Corner” is my jam on there.

‘Going Back to My Roots’ one of my favorites. Juju & Jordash are phenomenal. They are seriously making amazing and interesting, original, soulful, and experimental music. SOLID!
