When ISM started, I honestly had no idea how many people would even care. I didn’t have Site Meter installed from the jump off, so I can’t say exactly how many people viewed us in the first couple weeks of our existence. Since the Omar-S interview was up our first day, I imagine nearly all traffic came from links to that! In the time since then, whenever we have “big” posts that draw a bunch of people here, there’s a jump in the average number of unique visitors. This has been creeping up and up, to the point where recently we had our 100,000th recorded visit. To me, this is just amazing. I try not to get caught up in the numbers game, but we are doing this in order to get exposure for the music and artists we like! We have no ads nor will we ever have ads, so the only result of having more readers is that we are closer to achieving our goal. Honestly, I’m not even sure if 100,000 is a lot, or not many, or what. Coming into this with no expectations means that I am just really happy that people dig what we do. Thanks for coming to ISM! We’re gonna keep working to make our shit better and better. We’ve got some good things in the works already….
So yeah, I just wanted to give a shout out to any new readers who have recently started checking us. I highly suggest you check out all of our suggested links; these are the sites and resources that we use on a regular basis. These cats are doing it up big time! Also, we really value our comments section here at ISM. If you look through our history (which you can do by month or by category using the links on the sidebar!), you will see that we engage in discussions with everyone on our posts. This is as important as the post itself in my opinion! We’re not just trying to toss our ideas up there and leave it at that. If you want to know more about us, the links to each author usually include links to Myspace, Facebook, and any other sites. In the “About Us” section, you can find links to ISM on Myspace, Twitter, and our Facebook group as well, so that you can follow us in a variety of ways. Of course we also have the link on the sidebar for pasting into your favorite RSS reader if that’s how you get down.
Give us a holler in the comments section here if you’ve never done so before! I know we get peeps from all over the world on the regular here, so there’s no reason to keep seeing only the same bunch of names in the comments.

Just found your blog a month ago; a very, very sweet find. Keep up the solid work.
I always wanted to say thanks to ISM crew (especially Tom) for this blog. It’s my favourite blog about music. I’ve been reading it since the first Omar-S interview appeared but I’ve never left a comment. There were so many great posts, interviews and records recommendations here. Oh, and mixes too… I still listen to that beautiful “gmos – dance dance dance”. So, thank you and best luck in the future!
Great site with an amazing links section. I’ve chatted with a few of you @ CBS r.i.p (MachineMan). Good to see underground music getting some attention!
Found this site just yesterday from the teleost blog. I never bothered to look to the suggested blogs before. Good sh*t so far.
