Now that we’ve made our acquaintances again its time to get stuck in. Timothy Blake is a Berlin based (where else you may ask) Dubliner who hasn’t let his location get in the way of making some wonderfully loose-limbed funk of the electronic kind. He’s been on the radar of some of us in Ireland for many years without managing to actually get much music released but he’s had a pretty productive 2015 on this front. Taking his cues from classic American funk and Detroit techno his work is a fine antidote to much of the sturm und drang that continues to envelope too much dance music at the moment. This is joyous, free-wheeling dance music that isn’t afraid to let its human side shine through.
Here’s a few choice cuts from his recent releases on Fatty Fatty Phonographics and It’s Lectric World and Kleine Reise…
Timothy Blake – Haunting Passion (United States of Hinterland – Fatty Fatty)
Timothy Blake – R&B Restitution (The House Auteur – It’s Lectric World)

Yeah, you wait 10 years, then 3 records come along at once, typical! Great work Tim.
Never heard of him till I read this article. Some serious tunes posted, thanks for the heads up.
Tims Music is boss.
Rumour has it that he nearly had a Transmat release in the pipeline … then May pulled the plug on the labels output …
