Renato P on Must Have Records

The man Jay Simon has long been a favorite of ISM. He is one of those cats who likes to dig deep and find music that speaks to him, regardless of genre, whether it is old or new. As readers will know, he has been successful at this both as a DJ and as a label owner. The time between releases on Must Have Records speaks to the specific vision behind the label. When those releases drop, they are always high quality.

Renato P is the man behind the newest release on Must Have. Little is known about him due to a minimal online presence, but this is his first released music. Hailing from Boston and only 23 years old, his music has a raw musicality to it that lacks in much dance music released in 2015. Touching on house, boogie, hiphop, and more, each track is soulful and funky in different ways.

This record works as well for listening in the whip as it does on the dancefloor. Highly recommended!
