Detroit techno legend Derrick May was invited to do a show for BBC Radio’s 6 Mix last Saturday evening. The 2hr show is in 3 parts, the first part is a Hi Tek Soul Mix, then he plays some all time favourites (Marvin Gaye, D’Angelo, Boards of Canada) and then the 2nd hour is a club style mix.
You can listen on the BBC site for this week, the more hits it gets the more chance there is that he’ll be asked to do it again, so spread the word!

this is great while im cleaning up on a sunday afternoon.
this was nice to listen to yesterday evening while cooking dinner. just saw him spin live recently and he played some of the same records during the club style portion. also interesting to hear him wax on about the history on some of these records.
Does anyone know where we can find a downloadable copy? currently i can only listen in the bbc track player
yeah, but i’m not uploading it til it’s gone from the BBC site, the more clicks the better! 😉
yeah, the music was great of course, but thought he was a pretty good presenter too
