Fierce Homo – Mix

It usually takes me about 6 months to even think about recording a mix (there was an 18month gap before my last one!), but as of today I’ve somehow now managed 2 in as many months. This time around I initially set out to make a straight up techno mix but, as happens when having a mix, I strayed somewhat from that original plan. Techno doesn’t take up as much of my purchases as it used to and playing purely techno has less of an appeal to me as it once had, so it’s far more enjoyable – when djing anyways, hopefully when listening too – to not bother with any pointless constraints. The mix is still fairly weighed in the techno corner but with some other bits and bobs thrown in along the way.

As with my last mix, I’ve no real interest in firing out a load of the latest bangers, I just delve into what I’ve picked up over the years plus a few recent purchases that I’m liking.

Regards the title, a friend of mine I used to dj with described my last ISM/Italo mix as being “fierce homo”. I threatened a few times in the past to play Salt n’ Pepa when we played but always resisted, so this one’s for you, Jimmy.
