Just a little bit more Omar…

Bodytonic’s latest podcast is a little 30min mix from Mr Smith. There isn’t a whole lot of mixes on line from him, so it’s a nice little precursor to his upcoming Fabric mix. You can get it here

The whole world seems to be going doolally for Omar just now.

My birthday jaunt to London coincides with his set in Fabric in March and (bonus!) Clone have just announced Redshape, Serge, Mark August and Marco Bernardi for the same night.

    Holy unbelievably fantastic lineup Batman!

nice mix, although that voiceover/jingle is annoying!

if anyone’s not familiar with the Bodytonic podcasts, go dig a little deeper, some top mixes by Rob Hood and Metro Area amongst others

  3. Kenny says:

Mr Hood had them take down his one afaik

  4. barry says:

new interview knocking about too over on the feed at r.a.

the jingle on the bodytonic mix is seriously irritating.

  5. this is the first mix by alex i’ve heard. its good! (except for that mac voice jingle, I kept swearing at my computer yesterday)

  6. Louy500 says:

I didn’t mind the warped voice-over running on top of the mix, it sounded like a robotic narrative which in a way ties the whole mix and in the mid part enters the mix when the voice starts to stutter and click in time with the rhythm of the track, it sounds different and good!

  7. Dean says:

I actually enjoyed the sample too, in a way it reminded me of the old chicago tracks which use samples in the same way….jack jack ja ja ja jack your yo yo booty booty

  8. kenny says:

ugh, by the end i was getting fucked off with it. Dddddddddddddd NON STOP. SHUT UP.

  9. Dean says:

ah he’s no dj funk is he

  10. Scott says:

Hmm. Boring mix. nothing like the other one i heard of his.

Bit behind on all this, just catching up with what is going on thought I’d belatedly chip in and say the interview you did with Omar S was excellent. Dude is on fire, speaks his mind in a very frank, witty and intelligent manner, spot on about the French dude ignoring whats going on in his own country, sadly we Europeans have a tendency to look to the states while not paying enough attention to whats going on around us. Also I really liked the way Omar S can draw out the music heads from the headcases in his remarks, Willalobos indeed. Gonna have a special Omar S month catching up on his latest music, and digging his early tunes out, good times!
