Guest Mix – Dean Feeney, Tr One

It’s time for something a lil different from Dean for our latest guest mix. A few words from him about it…

Basically this is inspired by a radio show recorded in 1997 which features Terence McKenna being interviewed by Art Bell on Coast to Coast am. They discuss Terence’s views on time, psychedelia and volcanoes. I have been obsessed with this recording for a number of years now and upon receiving John Roberts’ Glass Eights lp recently I decided to record a mix whilst listening to the interview. The idea here was to focus on the interview as the centre piece and just mix records on the fly, allowing a sort of unconscious flow dictated by listening to the interview..

Timewave zero – A Terence McKenna special

John Roberts – August (Dial)
Arne Weinberg – The World Keeps On Spinning (11th Hour)
Rhythim is Rhythim – Kao-Tic Harmony (Transmat)
Carl Craig – Twilight (Planet E)
Disco nihilist – Untitled (B1 from LWYF 01)
John Roberts – Glass Eights (Dial)
Fridge – Anglepoised (Output)
Omar S – Night (FXHE)
JuJu & Jordash – Deep Blue Meanies (Dekmantel

Also, the Tr-one guys have recently got their new live show on the road with 2 live shows over the last 2 weeks. I played with them down at the Galway gig in The Beirhaus and they were pretty fantastic, with loads of great new material on show, some of which will hopefully be coming out before the year ends. They’ve got one more show confirmed for The Dublin Fringe Festival in September in The Workmans Club. I don’t have a date for it yet, but will know closer to the time. For those who didn’t catch the Galway gig or the one in Dublin on Saturday, you gotta try and make it down for it. They’ll hopefully be adding more dates in the next while.
