Linkwood – Expressions

One of my favorite tracks of the year so far is the title track from Linkwood’s album Expressions. I’ve actually had the album since late last year, and had it come out in 2014 it would have been near the top of my list for that year. Now that I’ve had time to really digest the album, I find the whole thing to be superbly constructed. Mixing together beatless jams with deep electronics, the record touches down somewhere between Rhythm and Sound and old Aril Brikha. It provided the perfect soundtrack to sitting on a grey midatlantic beach yesterday while I was reading Haruki Murakami’s novel After Dark. Highly recommended.
