New Mixx: Don’t Ever Play That Fucking Song Ever Again

2021 marks 20 years of me collecting records and owning turntables. Technically that means it’s 20 years of me djing, though I sure didn’t know what I was doing for a while at the beginning there. I’ve decided to mark this by, y’know, actually recording new mixes, not something I’ve been doing a whole lot of in the last 4 or 5 years. With no gigs or mixes I’ve still been filling that void with my weekly (and monthly along with Shane O’Meara) radio show on DDR – but recording a standalone mix is always a different beast isn’t it? This latest mix contains a fair amount of music I bought since Covid started – the next mix will see me go right the way through 20 years of record purchases that, if I wasn’t so stupidly obsessed with all this, I could have possibly bought a house with the money instead. Oh well.
M50 / Area of Kimochi Sound asked me to record a mix for his radio show years ago, I don’t even want to think exactly when, so thanks to him for continuing to nudge me over that time to actually do it. It went out as part of his 4hr Etc Show on wax’n’cats, Sphere Radio in Chicago and a bunch of other places I think. I’m up for the first 2 hours. I think it’ll work pretty well for the crazy heat we got at the moment too.
