Guest Mix: Red D of We Play House Recordings

ISM is very pleased to present this hot new guest mix by Belgian DJ and label owner Red D. Despite only having been around for a year or so, We Play House Recordings has already dropped six ridiculously dope 12″s by artists like San Soda and Reggie Dokes. The label specializes in that slow electronic house music with thick atmosphere that connects classic deepness with modern styles that we can’t get enough of. Red D’s mix finds common ground between lots of different artists with some unreleased WPH goodies mixed in there for good measure. Check it out, it has the perfect vibes for the dog days of summer that we’ve got going on right now….

that purple ep from san soda is crazy good. picked up the rainer trueby aswell, both sides are great.

    mix looks tasty.

  2. Now this is ‘SOLID!’ Wurd to all my mothahf@ckin’ Belgian boys, especially my closest, Red D and everyone at Clues.

Bart has a stunning record collection that almost made me shit myself the first time I saw it. For a guy in Europe, he has as many Black American Records as I do. All early Chicago, Detroit, NYC, and anything that was good in between. (he owns more original Trax records then I do) As if this wasn’t enough, then I heard him mix them together. Bart controls his record speed with the pitch only, (this used to be a big deal in Detroit – NO TOUCHING THE RECORD OR THE PLATTER), he uses the eqs to cut frequencies to make records fit, he understands timing and mixing in key, and he truly, truly LOVES the art of deejaying. (He’s in my top 10 best Deejays I’ve witnessed in my lifetime.)

‘We Play House’ is a excellent label. If you know Bart, you would easily understand why Red D owning a great record label is logical.

Beautiful mix… love the way ‘violet’ was used here.

Also, San Soda is a wonderful producer, if some of those tracks were released, I would gobble them up.

  9. Pinky says:

Good stuff, damn San Soda just delivers the deepness by the shovel-full for me; wasn’t aware of that Walter Jones twelve either… it’s all good. Thanks.

  10. Jamie says:

I guess my comment was no good.

  11. pipecock says:

Not exactly! I was trying to mark another comment as “Spam” and in the process deleted 3 or 4 consecutive comments. Irritatingly, there is no way to get them back or to even see what they were. Sorry! I need to not be such a fucking moron.

  12. Jamie says:

Haha works better this way cause normally I hate writing comments. 🙂

    Great mix!

  13. Mr. Twon says:

the more i listen to this, the more i can’t help but wish I could hear something 1/2 as good at the demf. this would be some fresh main stage biz! what a great mix. pls keep em’ coming!
    Ant

  14. BMinus says:

I think that Walter Jones track is titled “Living Without Your Love,” not “Thinking About Your Love.” The 12″ is DFA 2212.

  15. Joe H says:

so good. great label great sounds, great mix.

  16. thanks for all the dj red’s mixes! truly enjoyable!
