Family of Eve was a Pittsburgh soul/funk/disco group that laid down a classic 45 in the late 70′s that now goes for crazy money on Ebay. “I Want To Be Loved By You” has since been comped, edited, and/or reissued by Keb Darge, Kenny Dope, and Dimitri from Paris. The second label to press the 45, Full Sail, also comissioned a 12″ disco mix of the A-side “Please Be Truthful” back in ’79 which never made it to vinyl. Recently, this 12″ mix was discovered in the Full Sail vaults along with a treasure trove of other goodies from the time, including new unreleased tracks as well as alternate versions of many jams, including “I Want To Be Loved By You”. These are slated for CD release sometime in the near future, but the real gem is the 12″ they’re releasing now.

Family of Eve 12?

Featuring said 12″ mix of “Please Be Truthful” on the A-side and the previously unreleased uptempo disco funk joint “Get Off On It” on the B-side, this is a hot little piece of Pittsburgh soul music history that might have otherwise never seen the light of day.

They are still looking for distribution for this 12″! If you can hook that up, leave a comment and I will get you in touch with the label.
