Guest Mix: Meschi – Dark Prospects

Dark Prospects

Summer is starting to get to me, I think. The heat and humidity are beginning to get unbearable, my allergies are giving me a constant sinus headache, and I get to do fun things like go to court tomorrow at 8:30 AM for the trial of the prick who burglarized my house last fall. Hopefully my upcoming vacation will make things better, but in the meantime this mix is a nice comfort. Dark and cinematic, maybe this can help soundtrack your descent into madness as well as mine.

from your nick of the woods it seems, nice horror soundtracky proggy rock, just got this, http://www.discogs.com/release/818505, not bad, some proper synth action.

  5. meschi says:

zombi really are awesome man. they’ve released some amasing stuff.

  6. pipecock says:

those doods are from pittsburgh, but they run with a far different crowd than the people i know. to the best of my knowledge, they dont even really play out here. at least i never see their names on flyers, though i dont often seek out the indie/hipster shows. Pittsburgh has a long history with horror movies though (George Romero, Tom Savini, Herschell Gordon Lewis, etc.), it doesnt surprise me that someone would pop up named after the Italian version of “Dawn of the Dead”….

  7. lerosa says:

too bad they don’t play local, they have this nice John Carpenter/Tangerine Dream vibe about them with a hint of early carl craig…would love to catch the live

Zombi moved to Chicago (i think), a ways back. They used to play Pittsburgh a ton, but had to move away to get a proper audience. They are solid dudes, and have a great sound. Steve Moore has been doing solo work so i don’t know if Zombi is still active or not.
