Just a couple of things that might be of some interest to ISM folk out there…first up Global Darkness are celebrating ten years with a party in Amsterdam on the 21st of March, featuring a mouthwatering line up of Dutch electro; Rude 66, TLR, Orgue Electronic, Legowelt and a host of others. Due to BLOC happening the week before there isn’t a chance I can make it, which is somewhat frustrating. The rest of the line up is on the homepage I’ve linked above and have a look at the rest of the website, which has been an intrinsic part of the west-coast scene in Holland for, well, ten years obviously. Congrats to them for staying at it so long.
For any Dublin dwellers out there ISM is coming out to play on Saturday week, 21st of February down at The Melody Bar on Capel St, which is a fun new venue that is a restaurant/karoake bar most of the time but has recently also played host to a new club night Some Like It Deep, whose first guest was Patrice Scott who played his debut Irish gig there in December. Myself and Gmos will be on duty for the night, so expect to hear what we talk about on here! Also, our friends TR-One are playing the same club this Saturday night too.
Lastly, I’ve got some new extra-ciricular writing activities going on for Dublin based promoters Bodytonic’s website. I’ll be doing a column for them once every 5-6 weeks and maybe the odd other piece too from time to time, helping to get out on another platform the sort of stuff we cover on here.

Liked the bodytonic piece, although I wouldn’t lump William Bennett in with the trendies too much, he’s been running ItaloBLACK up here in Edinburgh for a while and has an absolutely crackin collection, allegedly from the “first time round” so to speak.
Although myself and a couple of other Edina-heids were scratching our heads a bit when we saw him on the bloc lineup! Unfortunately I’m not going to make it to bloc, a source of much wailing and gnashing of teeth round my way.

Yeah, I don’t really mean to lump in Bennett with the trendies, it was just more lead in to some of the different artists booked up, from the unlikely (himself and Haswell), the hipsters (heartbreak) and the more traditional (i-f).
Some Like it Deep started going weekly as of last weekend.

really glad to hear everyone is digging what we are doing down in The Melody, thanks for the support.Kenny and Gmos should be a cracker this weekend. So everyone knows we are open at 8pm this week till 2.30. We are starting early because of a birthday party of 60-80 buzzers, so we will be hopping nice and early!!Hope you can make it down!
