  1. Aweesomeness. I like the mix from the Abbyssinians Mabrak (acoustic version no less!) into Trinity Psalms (which is based on the Mabrak riddim)…

  2. Robbert says:

What a great mix! Also many thanks for the tracklist, love it!

  3. Mr. Twon says:

I was just talking to Tom about where to start in DUB music. Thank you for making my day smoother at work 🙂

nice one dudes. i’m quite lucky to have a few great reggae music specialist shops here in brixton to dig in, its a pleasure sharing all this great music with y’all.

mr twon, if you’re just getting into dub, i have 3 other recent mixes up here you might like to check out………. http://dreammachinelondon.blogspot.com/2009/09/j5-cool-position.html

  5. pipecock says:

yeah this shit is really nice. i have to say, i’m jealous because reggae is one of the few styles of music i love that pittsburgh just doesn’t have in used shops. we never really had much of a carribbean immigrant thing going on here, and it shows in what actually shows up second hand.

  6. Msr. Twon' says:

    My man! Appreciate the look!

  7. gmos says:

yeah, you would not believe the pile of 45’s jonny had just from that one day I called out to him. I really wanted to go and find that shop the next day but didn’t have any time 🙁

and nice one jonny, been looking forward to this one!

  8. morgs says:

infectious riddims jonny5! nothing beats old school roots and dub! This stuff has so many of the elements i crave in music. If the reggae forefathers listened to what masquarades under the name ‘dub’ today, i’ve no doubt they’d be moved to tears!

  9. Platinum Ray says:

really enjoyed this dubby goodness, jamazin

  10. jonny5 says:

    nice one dudes.

as far as new reggae goes, i think there is some good stuff around still, although i would say there’s nowhere near the quantity of good releases being made that there were in the 60s and 70s (and 80s). The Sip-a-Cup records stuff is worth a check. I included the Winston Sax track on the mix, that came out fairly recently and I think that track is superb.
